The New Jersey Family Child Care Providers’ Association supports the National Association of Family Child Care concept that a family child care provider who represents the highest standards of excellence:
1. Provides a safe and healthy home.
2. Responds to the need to provide age appropriate activities based on knowledge of child development.
3. Offers nutritious meals in a positive, relaxed, social atmosphere.
4. Varies play and encourages exploration in both indoor and outdoor areas.
5. Interacts with children in a positive manner that is responsive to individual needs.
6. Develops the Family Child Care business by establishing policies and maintaining records and by sharing information with parents.
7. Experiences professional growth opportunities through participation in seminars, conferences, support groups, and professional organizations.
8. Respects and follows or exceeds the state and local Family Child Care regulations.
