A bill was submitted to the NJ Senate on November 8, 2010 calling for mandatory registration of Family Child Care Providers and criminal background checks. At the end of February, 2011, the State of NJ sent out letters to "In Home" providers and Child Care Centers, notifying them of the upcoming E-Child Care System. This electronic system will use a swipe card to record attendance for those families receiving subsidy assistance payments from the State for child care. Family child care providers will need to have a LAND LINE PHONE and BANK ACCOUNT to accomodate the NJ E-Child Care system. STATE OF NJ POSTPONES E-CHILD CARE START DATE TO JANUARY 2012.
